English – Once upon a time, there lived an old stork near a pond. He had grown weak and could no longer catch fish like he used to. He worried, “How will I survive now?”

The stork came up with a clever plan. He stood near the pond with a sad face and didn’t try to catch any fish. The fish and other creatures noticed this and asked, “Why are you not catching any of us?”

The stork sighed and said, “I’ve heard that this pond will dry up soon. A king is planning to build a palace here. I am worried for all of you.”

The fish panicked and asked, “What should we do? We’ll die if the pond dries up!”

The stork replied, “Don’t worry. I can help. There is a big pond nearby. I can carry you there one by one.”

The fish trusted him and agreed. Every day, the stork carried a few fish in his beak. But instead of taking them to a new pond, he flew to a nearby rock and ate them.

One day, it was the crab’s turn. The stork lifted him and flew toward the same rock. The crab saw bones of fish scattered around and realized the stork’s lie.

The crab quickly caught the stork’s neck tightly with his strong claws. The stork cried in pain, “Please let me go!”

The crab said, “You betrayed those who trusted you. Now face the result!” and he killed the stork.

The crab safely returned to the pond and told everyone the truth. From that day, the animals became cautious and didn’t trust anyone blindly.

हिंदी – एक समय की बात है, एक बूढ़ा बगुला एक तालाब के पास रहता था। वह अब बूढ़ा और कमजोर हो गया था और पहले की तरह मछलियाँ नहीं पकड़ पाता था। वह सोचने लगा, “अब मैं कैसे जीवित रहूँगा?”

बगुले ने एक चालाक योजना बनाई। वह तालाब के किनारे उदास खड़ा रहता और किसी मछली को पकड़ने की कोशिश नहीं करता। तालाब में रहने वाली मछलियों और अन्य जीवों ने यह देखा और पूछा, “तुम हमें क्यों नहीं पकड़ रहे हो?”

बगुला दुखी होकर बोला, “मैंने सुना है कि यह तालाब जल्दी ही सूख जाएगा। राजा यहाँ एक महल बनवाने जा रहा है। मुझे तुम सब की चिंता हो रही है।”

मछलियाँ डर गईं और बोलीं, “अब हम क्या करें? अगर तालाब सूख गया तो हम मर जाएँगे!”

बगुला बोला, “चिंता मत करो। मैं मदद कर सकता हूँ। पास में एक बड़ा तालाब है। मैं रोज़ कुछ मछलियों को वहाँ पहुँचा सकता हूँ।”

मछलियों ने उस पर भरोसा कर लिया। रोज़ बगुला कुछ मछलियाँ अपनी चोंच में लेकर उड़ जाता। लेकिन वह उन्हें नए तालाब की जगह एक चट्टान पर ले जाकर खा जाता।

एक दिन केकड़े की बारी आई। बगुला उसे भी उड़ाकर उसी चट्टान की ओर ले गया। केकड़े ने वहाँ मछलियों की हड्डियाँ देखीं और सारा सच समझ गया।

उसने तुरंत अपने मजबूत पंजों से बगुले की गर्दन पकड़ ली। बगुला दर्द से चिल्लाया, “मुझे छोड़ दो!”

केकड़ा बोला, “तुमने भरोसा करने वालों को धोखा दिया। अब इसका परिणाम भुगतो!” और उसने बगुले को मार डाला।

केकड़ा तालाब में सुरक्षित लौट आया और सबको सच्चाई बताई। उस दिन से सभी जीव सतर्क रहने लगे और किसी पर आँख बंदकर भरोसा नहीं किया।
