Translation Exercise - 3

It was result day. Everyone’s eyes were glued to the TV. As soon as the name Ankit Verma appeared, a wave of joy spread through the village. The same boy who once studied under a lantern had now become an IAS officer.

His photo was printed in newspapers, and interviews aired on TV. People proudly said, “Our village boy is now an officer!” His father worked in the fields, and his mother cooked mid-day meals at school. Today, both had tears of pride in their eyes.

Ankit’s success inspired all the children in the village. Some now dreamt of becoming engineers, others officers. Ankit was no longer just a boy — he had become the hope of his village.
