Whenever we express a thought completely, in a way that the listener can clearly understand, we call it a Sentence.
In English, a sentence is a group of words arranged in a meaningful structure to convey a complete thought. Without sentences, language is incomplete.
✅ What is a Sentence?
A sentence is a group of words that makes complete sense. It always starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop (.), question mark (?), or exclamation mark (!).
Examples:
She is reading a book.
Are you coming with me?
What a beautiful dress!

Imagine you just say – “going market.”
The listener will not understand who is going, when, or why.
But if you say – “I am going to the market.”
Now, the message is complete, clear, and understandable.

English sentences are divided into 4 main types, each serving a different purpose.

Purpose: To state something in a normal way
Definition: A sentence that states a fact or provides information.
These sentences can be positive or negative.

Purpose: To express strong emotions or surprise
