English – Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a young shepherd boy who was given the duty of watching over the village sheep. Every day, he took the sheep to a grassy hill and sat there watching them.

The boy was bored and wanted some fun. One day, just to amuse himself, he shouted, “Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is attacking the sheep!”

The villagers heard the cry and came running with sticks to chase the wolf away. But when they arrived, they saw no wolf. The boy laughed loudly and said, “I was just joking!”

The villagers were angry but returned to the village.

A few days later, the boy played the same trick again. He shouted, “Wolf! Wolf!” The villagers ran to help, only to find that the boy was lying again. They scolded him and left.

Then one day, a real wolf came. The boy was terrified and shouted as loud as he could, “Wolf! Wolf! Please help!” But this time, the villagers thought he was joking again and did not come.

The wolf attacked the sheep, and many were killed. The boy was very sad. He had learned a painful lesson.

हिंदी – एक गाँव में एक लड़का रहता था जिसे गाँव की भेड़ों की देखभाल की जिम्मेदारी दी गई थी। हर दिन वह उन्हें चराने के लिए पहाड़ी पर ले जाता और वहां बैठकर उन्हें देखता।

एक दिन वह बहुत बोर हो गया। मज़ाक करने के लिए उसने ज़ोर से चिल्लाया, “भेड़िया! भेड़िया! भेड़ियों ने भेड़ों पर हमला कर दिया!”

गाँव वाले लाठियाँ लेकर दौड़ पड़े। जब वे वहाँ पहुँचे, तो देखा कि वहाँ कोई भेड़िया नहीं था। लड़का हँसने लगा और बोला, “मैं तो मज़ाक कर रहा था।”

गाँव वाले नाराज़ होकर लौट गए।

कुछ दिन बाद, उसने फिर से वही मज़ाक किया। “भेड़िया! भेड़िया!” वह चिल्लाया। गाँव वाले फिर दौड़े, लेकिन इस बार भी उन्हें मूर्ख बनाया गया। वे गुस्से में वापस चले गए।

फिर एक दिन सच में एक भेड़िया आया। लड़का डर गया और जोर-जोर से चिल्लाया, “भेड़िया! भेड़िया! कोई मदद करो!” लेकिन इस बार किसी ने उसकी बात पर भरोसा नहीं किया।

भेड़िए ने कई भेड़ों को मार डाला। लड़का बहुत दुखी हुआ। उसे अपनी गलती का एहसास हो गया।
