🔸 Meaning: To give false alarms repeatedly, so no one believes you when it’s real
✅ He always cries wolf, so no one believes him anymore.
✅ If you cry wolf too often, no one will trust you when it’s real.

🔹 Put yourself in someone’s shoes
🔸 Meaning: To imagine yourself in another person’s situation / show empathy
✅ If you want to understand others’ pain, put yourself in their shoes.
✅ Only someone who can put themselves in others’ shoes can decide fairly.

🔹 Blow hot and cold
🔸 Meaning: To be inconsistent in behavior / sometimes supportive, sometimes not
✅ He blows hot and cold — supports you one day, and backs off the next.
✅ Blowing hot and cold breaks trust.

🔹 Cut corners
🔸 Meaning: To do something quickly and carelessly / take shortcuts
✅ They cut corners to finish the work cheaply.
✅ Don’t cut corners while preparing for exams.

🔹 Pull someone’s leg
🔸 Meaning: To joke or tease someone lightly
✅ I’m serious — stop pulling my leg!
✅ He kept pulling my leg while joking with friends.

🔹 Add insult to injury
🔸 Meaning: To make a bad situation even worse
✅ The bad result was enough, and everyone’s taunts added insult to injury.
✅ His words added insult to injury.

🔹 Bite the hand that feeds you
🔸 Meaning: To harm someone who has helped you
✅ It’s not right to bite the hand that feeds you.
✅ He bites the hands that fed him.

🔹 Have a change of heart
🔸 Meaning: To change one’s mind or decision
✅ At first, he refused, but then he had a change of heart.
✅ I didn’t forgive earlier, but I’ve had a change of heart now.

🔹 Let sleeping dogs lie
🔸 Meaning: To avoid restarting old conflicts / leave past issues alone
✅ That mistake is in the past — let sleeping dogs lie.
✅ If you want peace, let sleeping dogs lie.
