English – Once upon a time, there lived a wise farmer and his young son in a small village. The farmer was known for his intelligence and hard work, while his son was careless and often wasted time doing useless things.

One day, the farmer gave his son a simple task. He said, “Son, go to the field and bring me a basket full of ripe mangoes.” The boy happily agreed and went to the field.

When the boy reached the mango orchard, he saw many mangoes on the trees. But instead of picking only the ripe ones, he began to throw stones at the mangoes to make them fall quickly. Some ripe mangoes fell, but many unripe ones also dropped to the ground. The boy filled the basket with these fallen mangoes and rushed back home.

The farmer looked at the basket and noticed the unripe mangoes mixed with the ripe ones. He said, “Son, why did you bring unripe mangoes? Didn’t you know that only ripe mangoes are good to eat?”

The boy replied, “I wanted to finish the work quickly, so I threw stones and collected everything that fell down.”

The farmer smiled and said, “Son, rushing to finish work without care only spoils the result. Good things take time and patience.”

The farmer taught his son the value of patience, hard work, and doing things carefully. From that day, the boy started helping his father wisely and learned to do his work patiently and well.

हिंदी – एक छोटे से गाँव में एक समझदार किसान और उसका बेटा रहते थे। किसान अपने बुद्धिमान और मेहनती स्वभाव के लिए जाना जाता था, जबकि उसका बेटा लापरवाह था और अक्सर बेकार की चीजों में समय बर्बाद करता था।

एक दिन किसान ने अपने बेटे को एक आसान काम दिया। उसने कहा, “बेटा, खेत में जाओ और मुझे पके आमों से भरी टोकरी लेकर आओ।” लड़का खुशी-खुशी खेत की तरफ चला गया।

जब वह आम के बगीचे में पहुंचा, तो उसने पेड़ों पर कई आम देखे। लेकिन उसने केवल पके आम चुनने की बजाय, जल्दी काम खत्म करने के लिए पत्थर मारना शुरू कर दिया ताकि सारे आम गिर जाएं। कुछ पके आम गिरे, लेकिन कई कच्चे आम भी जमीन पर आ गए। लड़के ने इन गिरे हुए आमों को टोकरी में भर लिया और घर जल्दी लौट आया।

किसान ने टोकरी देखी और पाया कि पके आमों के साथ-साथ कच्चे आम भी थे। उसने कहा, “बेटा, तुमने कच्चे आम क्यों लाए? क्या तुम्हें पता नहीं कि केवल पके आम खाने में अच्छे होते हैं?”

लड़के ने जवाब दिया, “मैं जल्दी काम खत्म करना चाहता था, इसलिए मैंने पत्थर मारे और जो भी गिरा उसे जमा लिया।”

किसान मुस्कुराया और बोला, “बिना सावधानी के जल्दी काम खत्म करने से केवल खराब नतीजा मिलता है। अच्छी चीज़ें समय और धैर्य मांगती हैं।”

किसान ने बेटे को धैर्य, मेहनत और सावधानी से काम करने का महत्व समझाया। उस दिन से लड़का समझदारी से पिता की मदद करने लगा और अपना काम धैर्यपूर्वक और अच्छी तरह करने लगा।
