Translation Exercise - 6
Rahul was very worried when he saw his mobile data got exhausted in just three days. He asked his friend Amit for advice. Amit said, “You should talk to customer care directly, but remember, don’t get angry. Speak politely and calmly; only then will they listen to you.”
Rahul knew he could lose his temper easily, so he controlled himself and explained his problem to customer care very calmly and politely. Customer care told him that it was their new policy that the data in the plan expires in three days. Rahul was a little upset but kept his cool and hung up.
Then Amit said, “You should email the most senior officer in your state and explain your issue clearly.” Rahul did just that. He wrote in the mail that either his data should be restored or his money refunded, otherwise he would approach the consumer court.
After a while, the officer thought that if Rahul took the matter to the consumer court, it could damage the company’s reputation. So, he decided to refund Rahul’s money immediately.
A few hours later, Rahul saw that his phone balance had been recharged, and he felt very happy. He thanked Amit, who smiled and said, “See, problems only get solved when you stay calm and patient.”
