Translation Exercise - 7

Before Aditya could even think, Lakshya started shouting at the security guard to come quickly. His loud voice gathered many children around; everyone thought there was a big commotion. Seeing such a crowd, several teachers rushed to the spot. Aditya was frightened by so many people, especially since it was his first day at this unfamiliar school. Someone called the Principal Madam immediately, and as soon as she arrived, everyone became silent.

Without knowing the full story, Lakshya accused Aditya of entering the school without admission and also accused him of running away after borrowing money. Lakshya had no idea that Aditya had secured a good rank in the scholarship test, which was why he was admitted. His arrogance led him to insult Aditya in front of everyone.

Then the Principal Madam came and wiped away Aditya’s tears. She scolded Lakshya severely. Contrary to what Lakshya expected, the principal encouraged Aditya, saying he was the pride of the school. She explained that Aditya’s financial condition wasn’t good, but he was a brilliant student who secured second place in the city in the scholarship test. Hearing this, everyone was surprised and applauded Aditya.

Lakshya thought about how the boy to whom he had once given money as charity would now study in the same school as him. Later, he spoke to his teacher, who explained that one should never underestimate anyone based on their appearance or background, because true greatness comes from deeds and hard work, not from birth.
